I'm looking for a skirt that I saw online to wear this weekend. So instead of driving to the store, to later find that they don't have it, I typically like to call the store and ask an associate if they can help me out and see if it's there. I actually just did this a few seconds ago..jeje and I'm glad I did because they didn't have it. I was able to find another store that did. Is it just me....or do you do this as well? Or do you just rather go to the store?

Okay, so hereâs the scoop on me and jewelry accessories â" I LOVE jewelry. I love to shop for it, I love to buy it, I love to simply look at it and how pretty it isâ¦ However, when it comes to wearing jewelry, I tend to be a minimalist. It just bugs me, and I often feel like itâs restricting, bulky / in the way, and overkill.

Starting this weekend â" I plan to do a full week of forcing myself to accessorize with jewelry, but for today, I accessorized how I normally do â" with a belt, ruffles, tights, a little sparkle, and a fun shoe.

Pattern Love

A little print, a little color, and a little bling (i.e. the belt clasp!) â" so many of my favorite things! This shirt is quite loose and blousy, so I generally tuck it in to a pencil skirt or layer it under a dress â" but I found out today that clearly a belt does the trick too!

A bold pattern, such as this top I am wearing, can sometimes overwhelm people. Everyone is different, and it really depends on your features as well as the material, color, and size of the pattern you are wearing.

My tip to knowing how to work a bold print is to use a full length mirror â" look away, and then look back at yourself quickly. What do you notice first? Do you see yourself or do you only see your clothes? If you only notice what youâre wearing, then the print is probably overkill for you. If this is the case, try a smaller pattern, different color, or layer something over it (blazer, jean jacket, etcâ¦) to break up the print.

I love this dress, but I donât typically wear it in this chilly weather due to the short sleeves. I would have thought about layering with this dress before, but I just didnât think it would work with the neck line. Granted, the layering wouldnât have worked with just any top, but this black sheer top with a high neck worked great.

I felt very Mad Men in my look today (and a little Victorian in my jacket).

My Saturday

I copied the top half of one of my last weekâs outfits (a little edge) and mixed it up with a fun patterned skirt, colorful paisley patterned tights, and slouchy suede boots.

I went out for a fabulous classic Italian dinner at Pompilios (you know â" featured in a Rain Man, 1988). Their food is so delish! My faves are the eggplant parmesan and the 3 cheese tortellini. Next time I would like to try a dish with some kind of seafood, because that always looks so good too!

After dinner, I attended a Cincinnati Car Convention. Iâm not necessarily in the market for a new car, but it was fun to do something different & I love to see whatâs new in the market. I ended up being pretty impressed with the hybrids and may even take a test drive next week!

After all of the snow and rain in New York this winter I have been trying to figure out a solution for footwear. I learned a lesson last week when I wore my rubber boots to work all day and didn't bring another pair of shoes to change into. Rubber boots are awful to wear for long periods of time because your feet start to sweat. Yuck! But these new shoe covers by Shuella are great because they slip on over your other shoes. They keep the slush out but you don't have to tote around your other shoes in your purse. And they come in several cute colors although I prefer the black myself. $49.50

Yesterday I dropped off some clothes at Platoâs Closet. While I waited for them to tally up my clothing total, I browsed around and actually found 2 really cute dresses and a fabulous turquoise necklace! This nautical style dress is one of my finds.

I was going to go with the navy, white, red nautical color theme (which Iâm sure Iâll do soon), but my red belt wasnât working with this so I went with gold, brown, and orange accents. I think it worked!

Okâ¦ so on to the GROCERY RAGEâ¦

After meeting with a girlfriend for some fabulous lunch and girl gab time, I headed to the grocery store.

I LOVE looking through the gourmet sections of grocery stores. I could seriously spend all day in a grocery store browsing through fancy cheeses, marinades, vinaigrettes, etcâ¦ Howeverâ¦ I HATE being in a grocery store when itâs crowded. I have very limited patience and I get very frustrated when people are pushy and in the way!

The grocery store stress was starting to get to me, as the bag boy overfilled 1 plastic bag with 12 cans and wasted another bag with a single lemon -- I seriously had to resist the urge to scream. Thankfully, I was able to resist and made it out to the parking lot without incident.

As I was walking to my car, a lady stopped me and said âI saw you in the store and you were so organized and efficient. I was so jealous! I was young once too!â I laughed in my head because little did she know I was having a near meltdown screaming fit a few moments earlier!

Only three more sleeps until LFW. Yay! Despite my bubbling joy, there's the tricky little issue of what to wear. The will to stand out will always spar with the deep-rooted need for comfort - especially when running between shows. Then there's the issue of styling it large without being profiled for credit card debt; not to mention a meagre 15k baggage allowance. My secret weapon this season? Maxi dresses! Lean on space and huge on potential. Pair them with a blazer or leather jacket or layer them with clashing separates and accessorise at will. Oh, satchels, turbans, clogs, brogues, jeans and genie pants get the thumbs up too. Somerset House here I come!

I love finding new niche labels I can sink my cash into! My latest love is Sydney's Maurie & Eve. Stocked @ Urban Outfitters, the baby Aussie brand (only six years old!) combines cutesy separates with a tough girl edge like this rockin' fringe dress (â¬183). This is 100% Studio 54 with fluorescent lights. What's more it parlays the tassel trend without looking like there may be a horse on the loose. Iâm Over It!

Blue Dress: Banana Republic. Boots: Chadwicks. Belt: Steinmart. Tights: Macyâs.

Iâm over complaining about the cold! Itâs so hard for me to dress in anything but boring sweaters when itâs cold outside, but at least the snow has stopped (for the moment) so Iâm taking the opportunity to dress up a bit.

I lurve this blue dress, but it is seriously light fabric so Iâve only worn it in summer thus far. However, I paired a more structured black short sleeve dress under it and it kept me warm all day (that and my boots and tights)! I also liked that the black fabric showed at the bottom and broke up the blue of my dress and tights.

andâ¦ wait for itâ¦ â" another version!

I actually started out with some different accessories to this outfit:

When is a Good Age to Start Using Anti-Wrinkle Creams?

So the other day my best friend called me asking for my advice on what eye anti-wrinkle cream she should buy. She's only 24, (one year younger than moi) so I was really surprised she was even asking me this. She said she started noticing some slight wrinkles underneath her eyes and was freaking out. I currently don't use any anti-wrinkle creams...(just moisturizer and spf) so that got me thinking, should I be using anti-wrinkle creams too??? It's a kinda scary thought, but I mean, it is a good thing to start preventing getting wrinkles at an early age...right? I'm thinking about making an appointment with my dermatologist to see what eye anti-wrinkle cream she recommends, but in the meantime I started doing a quick search and came up with DERMaccai. It was supposedly featured on Oprah as one of the best eye wrinkle creams on the market. I personally haven't tried it...but wanted to see if any of you had. Do you currently use any other anti-wrinkle cream? When do you think is a good age to start?

Here are some tips from ehow on other ways you can start preventing wrinkles:

- Protect your skin from the sun. The sun is one of the major causes of wrinkling. Wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a high SPF rating every day. Apply it about 20 minutes before you leave the house, and reapply every 4 hours. If you are sweating or in water, apply more often. Wear a hat if you are spending extensive time in the sun. You should also wear sunglasses which protect against both UVA and UVB rays.

-Hydrate. It's imperative that you keep your skin hydrated from the inside out so aim to consume at least 64 oz. of water daily. When you drink enough water, your skin will remain moist and supple.

-Moisturize. Dehydration and loss of elasticity lead to wrinkles, so it's imperative that you keep skin well-moisturized on the outside as well. Apply a moisturizer that is appropriate for your skin type daily. You can also find moisturizers that contain sunscreen.

-Apply hydroxy acids to your skin. Alpha, beta and poly hydroxy acids come from fruit, milk and sugar cane. These acids work to remove old, dead skin cells and help produce newer, younger-looking cells. They also encourage collagen production which plumps up the skin, thereby reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Your skin may initially be sensitive to hydroxy acids so test them on a small patch before full application.

-Avoid excessive facial expressions. Wrinkles are caused by repeated facial movements. If you hold tension in your face and tend to wrinkle your forehead, crease your brow or squint your eyes, try to relax your face throughout the day. Avoid holding these expressions for extended periods of time as they will lead to wrinkling.

-Do not smoke. Smoking cigarettes has been shown to lead to premature wrinkling.

-Eat healthy. A well-balanced diet is a key component to healthy, young-looking skin. Aim to maintain a diet that is rich in vitamins and nutrients, particularly Vitamin A, C, E and K, which have been shown to promote radiant skin.

The Fashion Bloggers' Brunch kicked off the 2010 calendar @ Arnotts this Saturday with a growing list of new style scribes. Laura from JustLolo and Ailbhe from Soooali joined us for an endless table of yummy treats, coffee and Buck's Fizz. I was most excited about the more-than-generous goody bag which included Instant Facelift from Skin Doctors cosmeceuticals, Rituals Yogi Flow shower gel and a gorgeous charm key ring from New Zealand label Kathy. More importantly, my new Coccinelle umbrella will keep me stylishly dry at tomorrow's Hennessy Gold Cup. And it wasn't just the goody bag that made table conversation. Convos included Blanaid's Style convention in Kilkenny, OffShoot's amazing dress knocked down to â¬50, Help My Style's 12 velvet dickie bows for â¬12 on eBay, Nicky's Rag Tales Bali-esque karma bracelets which are gifted to friends (and which I am wearing!), greige nail varnie, the ironic unlikeliness of Facebook doppelgangers, a potential new vintage/charity shop opening in Dublin, Kate Moss' new Longchamps range @ Arnotts which launches March 1st and the perfect venue and that was the Conran Shop. Muchos thanks to the lovely Sarah Williams @Arnotts for hosting what was a fabulous Saturday brunch. xxx

It was âWear your favorite NFL team jersey to work dayâ. Howeverâ¦ I donât own one.

I think itâs fine that other people wear them, but Iâve just never been inclined to buy an oversized (typically obnoxious colored) sports shirt for general wear.

I am, however, a sports fan and I do like to watch NFL games, so maybe some day Iâll consider it.

In the meantime â" I decided just to dress more casual than normal instead. Lighter colored jeans, graphic lightweight tank, and a bright sweater / hoodie. Iâm feeling football festive!

Last night saw the unveiling of Harvey Nichols' SS10 collection - a conceptual show and mini movie - based on the 6 day play by Austrian artist Herman Nitch. Paint strewn clowns prefaced the controlled madness with catwalked designs by Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen and Sonia Rykiel. Kudos on the secret post-industrial venue hidden behind the store. HN is harbouring some serious street cache!

Eloise Corr Danch Paper Dress On View at Kate's Paperie

Eloise Corr Danch's Ruffian Paper Doll dress is a historical costume paper sculpture. It was previously on display at the Museum of Arts and Design paper exhibition SLASH! Paper Under the Knife. The Victorian dress features papier mache pages from a book and an intricate internal wire bustle. I am a huge fan of Eloise Corr Danch's work - remember those paper flower pictures I posted from the Macy's flower show last year. Visit Eloise's website to see more of her work. I love the blend of black and khaki â" maybe it seems boring to some, but I like it. It feels reminiscent of Jackie-O to me.

I was also very happy to wear this skirt today as I finally got it tailored to fit me better. I think I have to tailor at least 30% of all the clothing I wear (yes, my seamstress and I are fabulous friendsâ¦), but itâs worth it!

I tried to tailor my clothing myself for a while, but it just never turned out that great. I figure that I pay enough for my clothes â" I might as well have them fit right and look as best they can (therefore I keep them away from my clumsy stitching hands).

Itâs important to remember that itâs not the person that is shaped âabnormallyâ but itâs the clothing! Thank goodness we are all unique shapes and sizes! Now â" for all people out there with ill fitting clothing â" find yourself a seamstress of your own. Trust me, youâll be thankful.

It's rare that I get obsessive about clothes. Okay that's a lie. Let me rephrase. It's rare that I obsess ad infinitum about a particular item of clothing. Normally it's a stormy tempestuous lust-fest which fades to a worn fondness with time. Not with this dress. This is THE dress I've not been able to shake since clapping my peepers on it last year. The bias-cut maxi beauty is the creation of Irish designer Sinead Doyle who knows a thing or three about modern tailoring. It's the kind of dress you will forge excuses to wear - 'Of course, I can wear it washing the car; or paragliding.' Luckily I have a fairly legit one in the offing. As one of the judges for the Hennessy Best Dressed Lady competition at Leopardstown this Sunday, I shall be wearing this baby with pride as I scout.
